Continuing last article about places of interest in Rattanakosin Island or called as Bangkok right now, lets have a look at next places.

Wat Arun
When crossing the Chao Praya River by boat or ferry, the view Wat Arun is the most attractive and conspicuous. When viewed from afar, the pagoda-shaped building. There are quite steep stairs that can bring visitors to the top of Wat Arun. From its peak, visitors can enjoy panoramic Chao Praya River and Bangkok’s old city. Very interesting!

After the Burmese army destroyed Ayutthaya, King Rama I built a new royal capital of Siam in Thonburi. Thonburi area is situated on the banks of Praya River and along the sides surrounded by canals. This Thonburi area of Bangkok is the embryo of what we know today. It is the oldest district in Thailand’s capital city.

Bangkok’s old city area is often called Rattanakosin Island because of its position surrounded by rivers and canals to resemble an island. His name has not been to Bangkok if you do not visit the Rattanakosin. There are many must see attractions that can be found in this region. Any interesting places to see in the old city of Bangkok?

Because of lack of main land, there’s an island in Japan that were made from pile of trash, but don’t worry about the smell and others, its safe and not smelly, quite romantic actually. The island name is Odaiba.

Odaiba area is located in Minato-ku, near the port of Tokyo. Approximately 150 years ago, this city was a stronghold of the Japanese defenses in the face of the attacks of foreign forces. Then, in the 1930′s, Odaiba laid out with a variety of beautifully kept gardens restored to date.

Before the Siamese royal capital was moved to Bangkok, Ayutthaya is the administrative center of the country’s white elephant for over 400 years. In the history of Thailand, this period is called the Ayutthaya period. In the golden era, Ayutthaya once inhabited by one million people, making it the largest city in the world of his day.

As a result of invasion of the Burmese army in the late 18th-century, the city was almost devastated. Nevertheless, his greatness does not necessarily go away. Remains of pagodas and temples can still be enjoyed magnificent today. A visit to Ayutthaya can be a choice very interesting historical attractions.
